Trik Alley Band History

The Trik Alley Band has been around for quite some time now. Although it has been through some changes, three of its members, Andre`, Ronnie and Pickle, have found their way back home. For more information on this trio, check the bio page.

Trik Alley originated in 1982. The band consisted of: Andre` Kerr, Phil and Wanda Griffin, Joe Sumner, Danny Cash and Mike Webb. After a while, Joe moved on to other ventures and George Roland took over the percussion duties. Shortly after Joe’s departure, Danny Cash decided to hang up his sax and the six piece band became five.

When Phil and Wanda left, Ronnie Hayes joined the band and became Tick Alleys guitar player and one of the lead vocalists. Now the band was down to four. After calling "The Silver Bullet" home for several years, George decided to move on and Harvey Swanson took the drum throne. After much consideration, Mike decided to spend time with his family and Dale Wells assumed the bass playing role. As time went by, Trik Alley finally decided to take a break.

After a well deserved break, Wayne and Cheryl Arthur approached Andre` with an offer to put a band together to play at "The Boars Head Lounge". Andre` called Ronnie,Tank Shetley and Pickle Eaves and the next generation of The Trik Alley Band was formed. After about two years, Wayne and Cheryl moves on and the rest of the band continued at The Boars Head and added long-time friend and musician Scotty Moss.

After The Boars Head changed management, Trik Alley moved south about fifteen miles to Jonesville and became the house band at Crossroads. After a couple of years, the band, once again took some time off.

In 1997, Andre` reorganized the band with two old friends, Mike and George, and a new comer to the band with Danny Ponder, guitar and fiddle player.

This quartet played the Spartanburg area for a few years and the guys decided to call it off for a while.

Ronnie had retired from the music scene. Andre` and Pickle reunited to play with Jack Roper and The Weather Man Band. After about two years, Andre` and Pickle approached Ronnie to reunite Trik Alley and the band is up and kicking once again.

With great enthusiasm, Trik Alley invites all of their old friends and new acquaintances to join them in their on going quest to excite you with entertainment and good music.
